Mel has a fabulous team of experienced ladies who help her make up the blinds, curtains and cushions but as she also sews this allows a hands on approach to what works in reality not just in a magazine!
From the initial design consultation and measuring up, Mel will personally oversee the work through to the final hanging and installation.
Over the years Mel invested in a wonderful library of fabric books and takes pride in helping clients quickly source what they are looking for.
As the books are brought to your home, it really helps to simplify the process not to mention reduce the stress and hassle factor involved in trawling the internet and big department stores!
With a fantastic selection of books from the popular fabric houses such as Romo, Colefax & Fowler, Jane Churchill, GP & J Baker, Sanderson & William Morris, Mel also has loves using fabrics from some original British Design houses such as Sarah Hardaker, Zoe Glencross, Kate Forman, Emily Burningham, Ian Mankin, Moon Wools and Design Forum.
New Collections are regularly launched and Mel loves to keep the collections up to date so can show you all the latest designs, styles and colours.
Mel works closely with several talented upholsterers so can help you give a facelift to a much loved chair, replace the loose covers on your sofa, recover dining chairs, make bespoke headboard or even commission a customised bed. With numerous contact in the soft furnishings industry can also recommend local sofa companies if you want to try before you buy!
Windowseats and cushions of any size in the fabrics of your choice all pull together to add colour and texture and ultimately personalise your home.
Mel can also supply curtain poles and happy to help source the right look for your home and the curtain fabric chosen and favours working with the following suppliers: using painted poles from Alison Davies Design, Hand forged Wrought Iron and Steel from The Blacksmith Collection, Byron & Byron and the Bradley Collection for modern and industrial looks. She has worked with her curtain fitter for over 20 years and can arrange for everything to be installed swiftly and efficiently.
Finishing touches such as tie backs, upholstery and cushions can be decided either at the beginning to the project or once the curtains and blinds are in situ to ensure you are completely happy with the scheme.
